THE SCIENCE BEHIND OUR PRODUCTS

Transmission of microbial diseases can involve multiple pathways, and it is clear that many diseases can be acquired by healthy individuals from contact with objects and surfaces that have been contaminated by diseased individuals. Our units are designed to mitigate bacteria and viruses in this pathway by way of high-intensity UVC irradiation. The use of Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) to control microbial pathogens is a widely accepted application used for decades in hospital settings, wastewater treatment and other specialized applications. By expanding the use of UVGI, we have been able to develop solutions to help all kinds of people in numerous new areas of application.

UVGI technology uses specific dosages of millijoules per square centimeter (mJ/cm2) and each microbial disease pathogen has a unique dosage at which it is inactivated by UVC irradiation (that is, UVC energy received per unit area in a given measurement time). From our latest testing, with 2 minutes of exposure time in our Incident Response Bag delivers an average of 80.3 mJ/cm2 which is more than the necessary amount needed for 99.99% inactivation for the microorganisms listed in the table listed above.

Our units bring this technology to the forefront and apply it to everyday objects including first responder equipment, hospital beds and gurneys, medical instruments, hung-up clothing, tactical/hazmat gear, personal belongings, shopping carts, etc. used by healthy people every day, decontaminating these objects and making them safer for future use.
